If you enjoy being active, you can add a few outdoor days to your trip without making the whole holiday demanding. A hill walk, a surfing lesson or a guided rafting outing can sit between quieter stays. Choose the activity because you want to try it, not because you feel you need to fit everything in.
Ella has walks and a zipline above the surrounding scenery. Kitulgala offers river activities, while the coast has places to learn to surf. Pidurangala is another option for people comfortable with a rocky climb. These are different activities with different levels of effort, so discuss each one separately.
