Incredible Wildlife
Take a jeep safari in Yala, Udawalawe, Wilpattu or Minneriya to look for elephants, birds and other animals.
A safari is a chance to watch animals where they live. You travel through the park by jeep and stop when there is something to see. Some moments are quiet, while others might bring elephants feeding near the track or birds gathering at a waterhole. It helps to give each stop time.
The parks have different landscapes. Yala has woodland, open ground and lagoons, while Udawalawe is known for its elephants and open scenery. Wilpattu has forest and natural lakes. Kumana is a good place to ask about if birds and wetlands interest you. The right park also depends on the rest of your route.
Tell your planner which animals you would most like to see, but remember that no sighting can be promised. Bring binoculars if you have them and follow your guide and the park rules. Keeping noise low and leaving animals space makes the visit better for everyone.
